Summer IT Internship Program
The Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) and Governor Chet Culver, awarded Midland Information Resources an Iowa Student Internship Program award for the summer of 2008.
The program is a matching funds award which targeted Iowa-based businesses with fewer than 500 employees, with a significant portion of those employed within the state of Iowa. The program also targeted industries in biosciences, advanced manufacturing and information technology. The intern is to be selected from any of Iowa’s private or public colleges (including community) or universities. The intern will work no less than 30 hours a week for a minimum of 8 weeks. The focus of the program is to transition the interns to full-time employment in the state upon graduation.
The IDED awarded Midland with one matching funds summer IT internship position. The summer internship program will provide an opportunity for a college junior or senior to hone their skills in a professional atmosphere. Our IT intern will gain exposure to our clients, products and services, as well as the Company’s organizational structure and business practices. The 2008 IT internship program will sharpen the intern’s skills that are necessary to become a .Net Web Developer. The responsibilities of this position include developing web and web based applications from design through implementation, including written documentation and oral presentations. The selected intern will work with team leaders, project managers and developers building applications suitable for specified projects.
