Midland Recognized for Outstanding Safety Achievements
Midland Information Resources has been presented with The Zenith Safety Award by Zenith National Insurance Corp., a worker’s compensation insurance provider. Midland was recognized for outstanding safety achievements and for our excellent OSHA injury reduction efforts over the past five years. Since 1998, Midland has reduced the number of recordable injuries from 47 per year to just 5 injuries in both 2004 and 2005. This is tremendous improvement and has had many positive impacts for our employees, the company and our customers.
In addition, Trissle, Graham & Toole (TGT), an insurance broker who has worked with Midland since our beginnings, also recently recognized Midland’s Safety Team for their outstanding safety achievements. This included work done on job hazard analysis, safety audits and safety training efforts and for the special programs created during National Safety Month to heighten safety awareness throughout our company. This was the first time that TGT has given out this award and reflects the strong commitment Midland places on quality and safety.
Due to these efforts, Dan Ritter, Quality and Safety Manager at Midland, was a keynote speaker at both the PIA/GATF Environmental Health & Safety Conference held in Indianapolis, IN in March 2006 and the Genesis Occupational Health Conference held in Davenport, IA in April 2006. Both presentations centered on our safety improvement processes at Midland and highlighted our significant injury reduction efforts and our unique approach to changing the safety culture at our company.
