Midland Information Resources expands Print-On-Demand offering for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
Midland Information Resources, along with alliance partners Affina and AdminaStar Federal, has been awarded a contract by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to produce print-on-demand booklets for callers requesting localized information about nursing homes and Medicare health plans. CMS is the agency within the federal Department of Health and Human Services that administers health care services for about 75 million Americans.
CMS has expanded its customized, print-on-demand program to include requestor specific information regarding Nursing Homes. Driven by zip code, the new Nursing Home Compare booklet will provide each requestor with customized information that will include:
1. An overview of all nursing homes in the caller’s area
2. Quality measures for each nursing home, such as the percent of residents with pain or loss of their ability in basic daily activities.
3. Inspection results including the health deficiencies found during the most recent state nursing home inspection as well as recent complaint investigations.
4. Staff information including the average number of hours worked by the nursing staff per resident per day.
The new Nursing Home booklets are now available .
Midland currently operates an end-to-end 800# call center, customized book-building, on-demand printing and fulfillment solution for CMS that provides individualized information about the Medicare program. This information is based on zip code, specific health conditions and what plans the requestor wishes to review.
Our custom book-building program was created to automatically assemble specific XML data gathered and created by the MPPF decision tool and build on-demand personalized health care documents mailed directly to each requestor. Individual books are built in less than 2 seconds, then printed and mailed out to the individual requestor within 72-hours of their 800# call.
Today, the program delivers up to 5,000 unique books per day to individual requestors. The program continues to expand and our efforts have earned us both a 2002 Explorer Award from the e-Government Solutions Center and a Superior Government Rating – which is the top government rating offered. This rating is based on quality of product, on-time delivery and, mostly, based on the creative solutions, program development and cost optimizations offered to CMS.
