Midland Celebrates 25 Years
July 12th, 2007 marked the 25th anniversary of Midland Information Resources, founded in 1982 by Gene M. Blanc. Gene, who has been in the printing industry all his life, realized a need that was virtually unfulfilled for short-run, quick-turn, one and two color high-quality printed technical publications.
Today, Midland Information Resources is a global provider of information management and distribution solutions. The company’s technical arm, Transcend Software, works in conjunction with the printing company, Midland Press Corporation, to provide information management, traditional and customized print output such as book building and variable print, as well as an array of distribution capabilities.
In an industry filled with acquisitions, Midland has survived by applying new technology to continually bring fresh solutions to our customers. The advancement of digital printing equipment has facilitated our movement to becoming a global provider. The output from these digital systems is able to go directly to digital presses, traditional off-set plate systems, or to electronic media, and allows customers to easily view proofs before printing. Midland has made capital and human resources commitments throughout our history. In this silver anniversary year, we continue to invest in equipment and infrastructure which speaks to the needs expressed by our customers for cost effective, high-quality, quick-turn printing on various mediums from one print-ready file.
